Rep (Richmond Hill Hockey)

The Richmond Hill Hockey Association (RHHA) Rep Development Program is for players and coaches within the Association.  The program is consistent with Hockey Canada development program and is designed to compliment and not compete with one another and assist in the progression and development of players and coaches to move up in competitive levels while providing a positive and rewarding experience.

Our Rep development program is focus on the younger age groups from Tyke MD through to Minor Peewee AA, a total of 12 RHHA teams.  Our current program is comprised of two development streams.

The first stream for all Tyke MD, Novice, Minor Atom, and Atom AE and A teams includes on ice sessions led by experienced Instructors focusing on core hockey skills such as skating, stick-handling, and shooting. Lead Instructors are aided by team coaches as well as volunteer players from older age categories seeking to obtain high school community service hours.  The additional help creates a low coach to player ratio thereby allowing specific focus for development of players that require it most.  See file "Development Tyke MD to Atom A" attached for details on this development program schedule.

The second stream is for Atom AA and all Minor Peewee teams.  This stream has been developed in conjunction with National Training Rinks (NTR) and includes both an on ice and off ice component. Development segments are lead by trained NTR Instructors in close association with Richmond Hill team coaches.  Together team coaches and NTR instructors collaborate on specific needs and requirements of the teams to ensure development is focused in the right areas.  See file "Development Atom AA to Minor Peewee AA" attached for details on this development program schedule.
