It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the passing of Brian Penrose. Brian was a lifelong supporter of minor hockey. His contributions to Richmond Hill Minor Hockey are unequaled. After coaching at the highest levels with the organization he chose to then spend decades coaching at the youngest levels. He introduced hundreds of our youngest players to the sport while at the same time mentoring and teaching his young assistant coaches, allowing them to pursue coaching careers of their own. He always taught the sport with a focus on respect, discipline and skills. His focus on building character created one of the most successful Tyke AAA/ super 7 (now called U8md) programs in the OMHA. Brian was instrumental in helping during the transition to the current MD program and helped our association create the standardized IP program that has defined our U7/8/9 programs for over a decade. He has directly and indirectly influenced thousands of players and for that the minor hockey community and Richmond Hill Minor Hockey have lost a legend and a friend. Brian will be deeply
