Hockey Equipment Drive for Beausoleil First Nation
Submitted By Webmaster on Monday, November 05, 2018
Over the past few years, the Richmond Hill Hockey Association, through the generosity of‎ many players, coaches and families, donated 90 bags of equipment and over 150 hockey sticks to a native hockey association north of Barrie: Beausoleil First Nation on Christian Island.

Please see the attached articles and CTV video clips that covered this wonderful story of big-heartedness by our hockey community:

In year one, the equipment assisted this organization in dressing an additional 20 players for their annual LNHL (Little Native Hockey League) Tournament held in Mississauga in early 2015. Without this equipment they would have only dressed 2 teams and instead they had 4!!

Once again we are asking the families and teams to donate so we can assist again in building their organization and encouraging  more of their youth to play the game we all love. Our friends at Beausoleil First Nation have expanded our donations by sharing the equipment with 3 other First Nations in their area.

Please drop off any extra hockey equipment such as skates, elbow pads, helmets, shin pads, shoulder pads, pants & gloves at Elgin Barrow  on Saturday November 17th from 10AM to 2PM. (We are not in need of jocks, mouth guards, sweaters or socks)

Alternative plans can be made if these times don’t work for you by contacting Graham at: [email protected] or 416 809-2130.

As an added bonus this year, we are asking for high school aged volunteers to assist from the hockey teams…we only need 6 on a first come first, served basis …we will need volunteers to work for 90 minutes within the drop off time period. Contact Graham for more details.
