As the kids get ready to head
out for their well-deserved summer vacation, we wanted to provide a few updates
regarding the upcoming season. Please take a few minutes to read this
email.
Homework Assignment for June – Complete the Player Profile Form
Since several of our parents are teachers or work in the education system, we wanted to honour you by assigning our players homework before the end of the school year! As a coaching staff, we want to get to know each of our players. We want to get a sense of their goals and what they hope to accomplish each time they step on the ice wearing their Richmond Hill jersey. We are asking parents to sit down with their player and complete the attached Player Profile Form.
This information will provide a basis for the development of our individual player program and the Atom AE Yearly Team Plan. It will also assist in determining what learning style each of the player prefers so we can take that into consideration as we teach skills and tactics on and off the ice. Please complete this together and if possible, scan it and email it back to me before the end of the month or the last day of school, June 29, 2017!
July is “Hockey Free” Month!
The coaching staff has made the decision that there will be no planned team events or training during the month of July! Since we have a long season ahead of us we want to take a break from all hockey related activities during this time. Let’s use the month of July to to spend time with family, go on vacation, enjoy camp and participate in other team/individual sports. We encourage all players to take the entire month off from hockey training! We believe this will help our team be more passionate and excited when the dryland schedule and training camp gets going in August.
Sponsorship Update: We have 50% of our Target!
Thanks to our amazing group of parents, we have collected over 50% of our sponsorship goal! As Heather recently announced, the amazing family behind Griffiths Plumbing stepped up and agreed to be our home jersey sponsors! This is great news and thanks to the Griffiths family for their support. We will have our final list of sponsors confirmed by mid-August as we still need a few more to get us to our target of $5,000! If you need a letter or the sponsor package, please contact Heather Hamilton.
We’re In! Tournament Confirmations
Thanks to Tom and our finance committee, we have received our confirmation for the following tournaments: 2017-18 Milton Winterhawks AE Classic (September 15 – 17) and the Bradford Blue & Gold Rep Tournament (October 13 – 15).
