Richmond Hill Jaguars are following the Lake Ontario Region (LOR) Regulations set by the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) with respect to tryouts and player releases. All player release decisions are made together by the Head Coach and the Jags Executive.

PLEASE NOTE: TRYOUTS FOR U10-U18 WILL BE HELD IN THE SPRING
AA: U13 AND YOUNGER APRIL 27-MAY 3
AA: U14 AND OLDER APRIL 29-MAY 5
A: U13 AND YOUNGER APRIL MAY 4-MAY 10
A: U14 AND OLDER APRIL MAY 6-MAY 12


Lake Ontario Region (LOR)

What is the LOR?

The LOR is the Lake Ontario Region and encompasses the City of Toronto (GTHL) and the following municipalities that border Toronto: Markham, Richmond Hill, Ajax, Pickering, Brampton, and Oakville (OMHA) and Mississauga and Vaughan (GTHL).

What are the LOR Regulations?

The LOR Regulations are a set of rules and regulations set forth by the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) that allow for players at rep hockey ( AA, and A) to play outside of their municipality of residence, but only in the municipalities that are defined as part of the LOR.

LOR rules apply for U10 to U18 at AA and A ONLY

U14 to U18 ( AA and A )

For U14 ( AA or A )  and older, players are free to play for any LOR team in the OMHA or GTHL provided they obtain an
LOR Permission to Skate (PTS) form. Players who played AA,A here last season and wish to tryout for a AAA team, you must
get the OMHA AAA PTS from us, present it to the Markham Waxers who will then issue the LOR PTS.

The LOR PTS AA and A can be obtained from the RHHA only for players that in Richmond Hill last season.

U10 to U13 (AA and A )

For U10 to U13, players must obtain a release from their residential hockey association before they can play for another team in the LOR. They are required to attend our tryouts and participate in good faith.
Players that do not participate in good faith (IE: Just standing around or lying on the ice )
will be asked to leave the arena and will not be given a release.
U10-U13 players will not be given a release prior to tryouts or if they do not attend the tryouts.
Players cannot try out as a goalie if they are not one.

Richmond hill residents who played AA and A last season in Richmond Hill and wish to tryout for AAA
must attend the Waxer Tryouts.
Richmond Hill AA and A players will need an OMHA AAA PTS from us to attend the Waxers tryouts.
Richmond Hill residents who played outside of Richmond Hill and want to try AAA must get the AAA OMHA PTS from us
and attend the Markham Waxer tryouts.
